Today you spread your wings,
and you decided to fly away.
God took you into his hands,
And he asked you to please stay.
He promised you he'd take care of you,
And he swore you wouldn't be alone.
For you had us down on Earth,
The place you always called home.
And even though you can't touch us now,

That even though you went to heaven,
You will always be a part of me.
He swore you'd never forget us,

And even if we can't feel you,
We know that we will never be apart.
Because you are our guardian,

And even though you left us here,

Heaven needed someone like you,
To make it through something harder than this.
