Post mortem

by pam   Nov 30, 2008

A steady numbing ache

throbbing in the region

of my breasts

sleep-wake state

most vulnerable

daily fresh lashings

of poignant memories

killing yet beautiful

spare me nothing

a cleansing ritual

unadulterated pain

my payment in poision

turning my heart a dark purple stain

I pull my body upright

start another day drained

but light as east hamptons rain
