Machiavelian Child

by Soulful Ensemble   Nov 30, 2008

I searched helplessly for my Machiavelian child
I got lost and wondered if she'd return in a while.
She's on a trip to somewhere that could be nowhere
And I've been waiting patiently for her there.

Her eyes are closing as the trip's been long
And her smile is fading to where it belongs.
"Its all about me and mine" she says
"I've got no time to waste on this."

Too many nights i've spent without her:
My love, my angel of darkness.
Where is she that is such a busy place
Which keeps blackness on her face?

I dream of the sunshine coming down
To end the rain's hold on her
Before she's forced to drown
And my life's left in a blur.

Darling, I miss you, can't you tell?
I wonder if it matters at all that I'm in hell.
How can I come to save you from your spell
When I am trapped here in my cell?

All I can do is scream and yell,
Waiting for a special smell
That tells me death is rotting
And now everything is nothing..
As your body's blood is clotting.
