War

by zariieee   Dec 1, 2008

It was all because of a simple 'hello',
Two strangers in two different parts of the world,
They grew, they grew, together.

It wasn't long till they heard the news,
a war breaking out-
Their love forbidden by the world & it's views.

Together they ran,
an alliance against all odds.
& soon the world came knocking on their door,
bringing a downfall that almost separated them,
but their love was strong and pulled them through.

As the knocks grew harder and the door came crashing down,
they took each other's hand and journeyed underground.
as they went deeper they hit the ocean,
The god of the sea had unleashed his fury.
their resistance to obey his will brought upon anger.
And together they swam,
as the pull of the waves only became stronger.

They held on to one another,
tired and weak,
it was their love that gave them the energy to make it to the shore.

Just then, the ground opened its mouth,
with the intention of swallowing them whole.
As the earth turned into quick sand,
There was no where else to run.
They embraced and died in each others arms.

Even a blind man could see that the world was against them,
that their love's existence was too intense for it to handle.
Forbidden love ; it was no longer,
and forever they float around in the heavens, as one.

Well I do agree with Cara that the concept was very original.Truely indeed the poem was great having to infuse love with nature; describing your struggled love

but i think certain things that took the poem off was the long sentences in the 2nd and 5th stanza and also the flow a little bit off in some parts of the poem. I think it could have been done better with a little work.Well that what i think... but overall i really like the idea of the poem;)

Wow. This was so sad, i was not expecting it to end like that.
I love how you tell of them pulling each other through the toughest parts.. and how they could only make it the shore together. fantastic - this is what i call true love.
i also love the concept of the war.. the whole world against the pair. Very original.
The end, how they died together and will float around the ocean together, was very sweet.

    Awesome poem.
    keep up the great work.
