Take me back

by Arun Khan   Dec 1, 2008

Follow me home again
take me back
let's walk smiling in the rain
before it began to fade to black
take me back to the days
were laughs were laughs
and smiles were smiles
take me back to when we'd run together
for miles and miles

Since the days are slipping by
like the leaves in the fall
between the false promises and another gentle lie
running deep inside us all
I want to be taken home, before we went astray
I want to be a family again like that summer time in may

It's like a hate brewing inside me,
and my fingers point around
but nothing seems to be
there's not even a twitch or sound
so what would you have me do
how can I make this matter to all of you?

Take me back to when honesty was within our eyes
take me back to when we'd help each other rise
take me back to when we were better
take me back to when we couldn't wait to be together

Your indifference is suffocating me
as I turned my face cause I don't want to meet this reality
times are changing and we don't seem to care
so blindly you're actions bathing in a tear
And I'm so tired of trivial temptations
all these heartless motivations
who'd care about the things we'd once do
tell me, which one wants to save us,
is it me, him, her or you?
Tell me Teardrop dearest, won't you please
speak up now little brothers ignorant and arrogant
spill them tears lover Meiyi mine?
Who'll help us back to those days if I can't do it anymore
who'll walk us back to safety when my hands are so unsure?

Take me home again,
let's be that family walking together in the rain?
Who cares..

Amazing poem. The feel was there that just brought back a sense of nostalgia as I read this one. I have to admit that this is the best of your works till date. Your talent but brims to it's fullest.
It's filled with so much of pain but also painting this picture of how desolate and empty life can be.
Excellent work Arun. You're a master in this form of art.

    Trees grow in different directions.
Honey I wish I could tell you what went wrong.
But please, believe me please please please..
You were the change that happened to me.
And that's a good thing, 'cause I grew up too, and baby, that's partially all 'cause of you.
You didn't do anything wrong, nor did he,
He just thought this was how you liked him to be,
And who knows, maybe he's regretting right now,
And I'll help stear us back there if I can,
    Somehow..
