Un Concert Parisien

by Dayne   Dec 2, 2008

Will wait for another drink,
Instead of wine, I drank the rain,
As I stood under the majestic spire,
A madman becomes sane.
The black sky cried still,
Emptying the whole street,
And I'm the lone man in the world,
Proud and ragged on his feet.
Pour ce soir, I shall sing,
Sad songs to mention a few,
And the next thing is to laugh,
Things crazy men only do.
There are tears afterwards,
Seeing nobody was around,
All I want was a clap,
But I was offered no sound.
And the wind howled,
So there came my audience,
Hugging me in its cold arms,
It's a flattery so intense.
As the raindrops subside,
The eve's sky was cleared,
Seeing those stars at their brightest,
While they hailed and cheered.
And the giant torch materialized,
Illuminating my place,
Like a million firing diamonds,
I was awestruck and dazed.
It's an evening like daytime,
And darkness surrendered,
As the galactic lights eased the chill,
I felt love from the Tower
