Is it something we should endeavor?
will it stay with us forever?
people go to such extremes
to be like the girls in magazines
when will we wake up and see?
that you are you and i am me?
all you can do is hope and try
but before you do, ask yourself why?
do you think they really feel good?
for looking the way they're told they should?
eating food is seen as a sin
just to be perfect and stick thin
do you think when they're old and gray
their good looks will remain and stay?
beneath their mask is concealed
a normal girl that's 100% real
why should they have to hide
who they are on the inside
who was it who wrote the book
telling us how we should look
everyones different
don't aspire to be the same
because when age takes its toll
you'll just be you again
without the looks to hide behind
someone will want you for your mind
even when your old and wrinkly
he'll still think your eyes are twinkly
your smile will still make him melt
and you'll still feel how you've always felt
why ruin what god created
just to be perfect and over rated
theres more to life than looking good
like friends, family and flesh and blood
why be shocked at your real face
just when makeup isn't in place
by all means dress up and apply your face
pile it in your bag just incase
but do it for fun and for you
not because someone told you to.
