Risky Business

by BornAgainWriter   Dec 2, 2008

Life has got a tight grip around my waist,
I'm confused as of where to turn my head,
Earth is screaming at me, "This way!",
I can't turn anywhere, I already feel dead.

Disappearing images of purple butterflies,
Toads sitting on lilipads,
Birds flying through clouds,
And my collection of doodads.

I tried chasing after them,
But they left me behind,
Now it is the perfect time,
To completely shut off my mind.

It's time to take a risk,
Doing something I like,
That can put me together,
Something dreamlike.

I tiptoe to the edge of this bridge,
With wires attached,
And people are crowded; watching,
The buckles are now latched.

I'm scared out of my mind,
What if I don't make it back up?
God has his eyes on me,
I'll make it back up.

Nervous acid is assaulting my stomach,
A clump of nothing is stuck in my throat,
My heart is beating incredibly fast,
Eyes closed; reciting my favorite quote.

Risk taking is definitely the new trend,
As I jump into the blue air,
And bounce a couple of times,
The wind is moving my hair.

Risk taking,
Isn't always such,
A bad idea,
I don't do it much.
