We are but Grains of sand

by Ganga Maya Rizal   Dec 3, 2008

The wishes of unseen souls.
The course of unknown laws.
The game of untamed players.
It is a stir of mighty powers.

Life is all but a castle of sand dunes,
Made in seconds by the forces of nature.
Rising to the heights of greatness,
Savoring the nectar of illusion.

Living like princes and princesses,
Nurtured by the elements of same forces
Filling souls with joy and happiness.
Fraction of it is mid summer nights dream.

And like a battle within the empire
It’s a struggle to keep soul alive.
A gust of wind, empires tumble and it is again
The grains of sand

Scattered into the vastness of universe,
An amusement to the untamed players.
Looking for a refuge in the house of mighty powers
Submitting to the unknown laws,

To be bound by the same forces of nature.
Unaware of the emptiness of mid summer nights dream,
The transient state of being bound
And the amusement of the untamed players,
Life is but the grains of sand.
