Icicles

by Sylvia   Dec 3, 2008

Snow melting, water dripping, drop by drop.
Soon those drops begin to build on the one before.
Slowly before your eyes, a vision of beauty,
icicles take shape, slight imperfections ignored.

Glistening in the sunlight, some clear as crystals,
clinging to roofs, wires, tree limbs, no two the same size.
Sparkling diamonds of the winter, raw and uncut.
Enjoy while you can, warm weather brings their demise.
