The Ball Ends.

by InvisiblyHeartless   Dec 4, 2008

Grab my hand, Lady of Mystery
Reveal thine identity to thee
Tis would delight upon thy name
Beauty in thine glittering mask
Thus layering blue ballgown
Forms thine into quite a dream

'Cinderella' begins to wish
The shooting star appears like magic
"I wish I may, I wish I might,
Wish upon this star tonight..."
Her gloves begin to fade to skin

His princess begins to run
Frantically he follows the lady
If he loses her, he won't live
She's his only dreaming hope
Prince Charming grabs her dress
The cloth ripping off

She keeps going, never stopping
Her scars begin to glimmer
And something clatters
Landing on the cold cobblestone
Yet, hiding her true self
Cinderella fades into the black

No glass slippers here, prince
But he heard the falling object
He goes to look and inspect
All he sees is a blue razor
Just the color of her ballgown
He pulls out his own, matching

They look exactly alike
Down to the skin cells on the blade
The dried blood on the handle
And the salty texture from tears
He knows he must find his love
Or this unending pain will go on

He's knocking on her door
Embarrassed by what he found
Cinderella hides from her prince
Knowing that he's aware
Kills her in the lonely night

No one is answering his knock
So he makes his way inside
He sees the crumpled gown
And then a little flesh,
Seeing what she's done to hide
He commits suicide

This is extraordinary. Although it has some of the bland content of much of the teen poetry on here (razorblades, suicide, and isolation) you've portrayed the central characters in such a way that it's not easy to see where the poem is going to end, once you get going. All in all this makes for quite a captivating read, even if the outcome is perhaps revealing of age more than you may have intended. Very interesting!

Wow. you have a little shakespear in the beginning, everything about Cinderella and it seems like at the end its like a Romeo and Juliet thing. This was very interesting, I kinda got lost in some of it, but other then that, I really did enjoy reading this =]

    keep it up.
    keep on writing.
    love always and forever.
