Infatuation

by brie kelly wise   Dec 4, 2008

Wake me up when love doesn't hurt anymore
Let me know when my infatuation won't show
Run, run until our drained faith grows
Hold me when our energy to escape slows

I remember back to when I was emotionally strong
And everything you said seemed so wrong
And days like these didn't stretch out so long
Wake me up when you stop the car

Let's weigh you against the thoughts you awakened
Let's walk away like this crash never happened
All she said to me was reach the long awaited end
But nothing she said could stop me from descending

A year in progress, and we await inside
Together, we were better on a straight line
And though you blew me away, you were so kind
Kind enough to detach from me and let me hide

And though you grabbed me and shook me
I still loved you in my mind until out my veins it seeped
How strong enough are you to know what you can keep?
Wash it all away so this side of us will never be seen

But you're not that smart when it comes to surfacing
Somehow, I never let you go when it came to learning
That you could memorized me when I stopped singing
I went to great heights to let you know,
Even though I'm still here, my escape route is lingering
