Dreams

I dream of two paths
One's wrong; one's right
One's a life, a future so bright
One's as dark as night

The future; a glimpse
Is dim, my eyes can barely see
A life that I wish could be
A wife, a mother- with child in arm
A happy life, where I smile a lot

But a date draws near
My impending doom
Some pills, a note, and lots of tears
My headstone reads:
"A girl in pain, so young, so dear"

I dream these dreams just one more time
And wonder on which the door will close
Will I live so happy and bright?
Or will I choose the endless night?
