Princess of the Carrousel

by DarkCrystalbtrfy   Dec 5, 2008

Princess of the carrousel
A story that we all know to well
Darkened eyes, a painted smile
Closing her eyes to become wild
To join the movement of the wind
The horses once plastic come alive from withen
There troubled eyes, there beating hearts
The need to run, to escape to be
Free in all eternity
Her hair streams behind her
Tangled in knots
Her dress now ripped
Without a thought
Nightmares peruse her every move
The wind itself urges her to fly
Those plastic horses that have come alive
Form a pack around her
She will be the one to survive
Her crown now slipping off her head
It clatters to the ground
Broken with dread
Storm clouds gather
Lightning flashes close
Terror grips her
Her eyes open wide
As a sunny day flashes
Right before her eyes
She blinks, she trembles
Grasps the bridal and sighs
Just another day dream
Of her broken life

Haunting but in a strange way beautiful.

I see a girl trying to escape her troubles at home, the princess trying to find a prince in her own mind, then gently having reality come rushing back to greate her despite her efforts.
