Living with a Farce

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 6, 2008

Some times we find ourselves living with a farce
Where genuine compassion and love is sparse
Longings to be lost in a love is very romantic
To find ones self in love in a world that's gigantic

Many times the human race is not so swift
To understand the spirit is truly a gift
In giving true love there is nothing to lose
Yet egocentric people are easy to bruise

Harsh words can hurt and kind words heal
Words can abuse but words cannot feel
Creation may rest in reason that is no lie
But passion is the spirit that cannot die

"Yet egocentric people are easy to bruise

Harsh words can hurt and kind words hea"
    - I love the word 'egocentric' The second line I'd suggest something like; [Harsh words hurt and kind words heal] - I think it's more powerful. It tells someone that harsh words WILL HURT not that it's a possiblity.

'But passion is the spirit that cannot die'
    - BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL.
    I love it!

You did a good job with this poem. It made me happy because the last line is so amazing. I don't know why, but I adore that line more than any line I've seen you write, haha. It's so true and gives imagery so simplisticly. Well done, darling!

The meaning is great too, I don't want to forget to mention that. But, it seems that all your poetry has amazing meaning behind it

It's a nice poem, but it made it really difficult for me to keep up in the end,I think the number of words in each line in the last stanza needs your attention

    Keep it up!

Waw, your words speaks directly to my heart. It's a long time i've not being so much touch by a poem like this. Yes kind words brings transqulity to the mind and even it increase the self esteem, especially when it comes out of the mouth of the ones we loved. A very great poem, it merits 5/5, keep it up, kel.
