A poem does not have to rhyme
to be called a work of art
The words poured without
Only must spawn from the heart
Indeed this is what a poem is about
There is no need to track the tempo or the speed
Nor to question what forms from your expression
You must take a chance
To see how well you can do, and,
To yourself you must be true
If you are going to advance
There are stairways and ladders
And fun twisty slides
that pave your road
But you must risk
To reveal your soul exposed
To all your gifts you've been bestowed
If you are ever to realize
Your true potential as a writer
You need to make your days brighter
And remove that image that you idealize
Writing in a box
No Freedom is in that you see
dead Imagination
As you grow to discover your abilities
And grow to see through art
Learn from yourself
Learn from life
Get out of THAT BOX!
