Forgotten Adolescence

by KeyxMashingxParody   Dec 7, 2008

Incensed fumes filling,
Lungs expand.
The familiar scent of,
The unknown.

The cot in which I rest,
Beckons me.
Echoing,
Caressing my eardrums.

My bones are creased,
Deeply shattered.
A familiar feeling,
I never knew.

Remembering is difficult,
For my heart only.
It aches beating forward,
Never looking back.

Abuse is familiar,
Like a face you once knew.
It as well left,
Abandoning everything.

Drunken fumes kissing,
Lips apart.
The familiar taste of,
Memories.

That was many years,
Before their time.
Before my coming,
Expired.

I awaited that day,
Before my birth.
For time to simply,
Stand still.

One moment,
To rely on in simplicity.
That simple moment,
I never knew.

I have read and reread this a few times and each time it gets better as I start to see the picture you have painted with your words. Very deep and emotional to say the least. not a happy poem - that's for sure. I hope the pain of that moment has subsided.
