Sorrow's Girl

by Unrequited   Dec 8, 2008

Her cheek is growing colder,
marked with fear
that drains her innocence

her eyes are full, yet watered deep
they twitch and fall, release her pain
as one by one, tears slowly descend

for purity cannot be gazed upon
when peering into a window
to watch her beauty shine

she shies away from wandering eyes
even when they wish to hold her
and bring her evening warmth

but one cannot erase what's been done
and she closes her bedroom blinds
to never see the light again.
