So Begins the FairyTale

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Dec 10, 2008

I was walking down the street
It was another one of those days
Where the sky looks like its dying
And withering away

I saw a dusty store on the side
I decided to take a look
Useless things on the shelves
But I found this crumbling book

It was a book of fairy tales
Before Disney made them jokes
It was a book of fairy tales
Before the "happily ever after" hoax

Well I read the pages front to back
They were ancient in my hands
Written by a true poet
In some far off distant land

The book spoke to me things
I can not ever say again
Like Cinderella and snow white
The lost reality of Neverland

The point was lost somewhere along
But I'll get back to it soon
The fairy tales we hold so close
Are lost somewhere behind the moon

See that true poet lost it all
In a fire when he was nine
So he lived in the dungeons
Drinking the king's leftover wine

They gave him nothing to write with
But he had to record all of this
So he took the bones of his best friends
Wrote fairy tales from two slit wrists

The ending shocked me... well I was not expecting it to end this way... but I marvel at your imagery...

As for the fairy tales, the stories were different from what we are told... Disney modified it for childrens I guess ... and I love it that way :)

    well described... well written...
    keep writing..
