Anywhere But Here

by BornAgainWriter   Dec 11, 2008

She sweeps in a crowded room silently screaming inside,
Feeling more alone in her mind than she has ever felt,
Escaping the people in beaded dresses and tuxedo's to get outside,
Pain hitting her in the pale face, causing a big red welt.

Music is authentically loud- masks are covering their faces,
Pushing and shoving; getting absolutely no where,
Trying to get some air in unquestionably fast paces,
She is hurting so bad inside; it's beyond repair.

Everywhere she looks it's like she sees an enemy,
Someone she doesn't even know just out to get her,
She's getting closer to the exit; surely but swiftly,
She trying so badly, to get out there and find a healer.

To heal and mend her broken shattered heart within;
Within her cold aching body that she cannot stand anymore,
Finally making it to the door pushing them wide open,
Running down the marble stone stairs to a place she isn't sure.

Anywhere but here.
