The greatest story ever told

Once upon a time
there was a young girl
plain and average
who was best friends
with the most extraordinary boy
amazing and so far beyond beautiful
she loved him from the beginning
he never saw that
one day
a beautiful girl
walks into his life
he thinks he's in love
he forgets the girl of his past
but longing grows in his heart
he misses her
and realizes
she's the one he loves
he leaves the new
amazing and beautiful
for the average and plain
girl of his past
that he now saw as extraordinary
but this is just a story
that gets told way too much
it is a great story
but just that and nothing more
a story

    Im going to be a bit harsh on this one, sorry. But i didnt really like any of the poem at all, except for the last few lines, because they were very powerful with only saying a few simple things, i think it should of been longer and had more thought and emotion added into it. I liked the idea of the poem though. 4/5
