For Both Our Sakes

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Dec 12, 2008

It's just another drug,
To feed a growing addiction,
A broken promise to add to the pile,
You're a walking contradiction.

It's just another plea,
Begging for a reason why,
You're the happiness in my life,
But can't you see this makes me cry?

It's just another drink,
To drown another memory,
A risk that isn't worth it,
You're just escaping reality.

It's just another night,
Waiting alone for my sweet dreams,
You're what makes everything all better,
But without you I fall apart at the seams.

It's just another obstacle,
To keep us far apart.
A wall you've built yourself,
You're holding back pieces of your heart.

It's just another push,
Praying it'll make an impact,
You're my world, my everything,
I'm trying to keep your sanity intact.

It's just another message,
A poem in endless rhyme,
Another way to say I love you,
I'm begging you to listen this time.

It's just another worry,
A paralyzing fear,
Thinking I could lose you still,
Before you ever make it here.

It's just another mistake,
That could put you six feet underground,
If you go I go too,
I don't intend to stick around.

It's just another promise,
I'm pleading with you to make,
No more of these things...please,
I'm asking for both our sakes.
