Darker side of me

There's another side of me that lives in the shadows, her heart is black and is surrounded by thorns.
Beauty and happiness are things she cannot believe in.

her bones icy and hard,
her skin rough as granite,
her eyes pierce like broken glass
but are as black as coal,
her hair is charred and feels of ash,
she smells of smoke and rotting flesh.
She comes out whenever I lose control,
all the emotions building up inside
I try so desperately to hide.
She stalks my dreams
and lives in my darkest nightmares.

I cannot escape her no matter how hard I try
she is my other half my dark angry sinister half
who I try to lock inside my head
but somehow she escapes
spreading darkness faster than the plague.
I scream at her demand her to go back
back to where she came from and never return
but she just laughs a crackling laugh
like dry wood on flames,

she mocks me with mischievous smile.
Her screams can split eardrums in half,
her voice hoarse and raspy.
Her smile snaggle toothed.
Her agony and misery is shown...
through her cold dark eyes

I try to run but she much faster than me,
I try to fight her off but she much stronger than me.
No matter how hard I try
I will always have this other half
the darker side of me.
