Time Without Regret

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Dec 16, 2008

The colored walls begin to fade,
And memories go blurry,
The hourglass begins to crack,
But still we only hurry.

Rush and rush and onward still,
We leave so much behind,
The choices that we can't unmake,
The reasons we can never seem to find.

Our lives begin to slip away,
Till soon they pass us by,
Moments we can't ever relive,
Gone within the blink of an eye.

Make the best of time allowed,
Or choose to let it go
Remember there's no going back,
And progress forward is often slow.

So live the life you choose to lead,
And live with no regret,
Don't mourn the mistakes of the past,
But don't let yourself forget.

It's not the difficulties you face,
Simply the way you make it through,
It doesn't matter what others say,
Your life is defined by only you.

I loved this poem. Brings home a few truths :)
    I extremely liked the stanza
"It's not the difficulties you face,
Simply the way you make it through,
It doesn't matter what others say,
Your life is defined by only you." so true and very powerful end to a wonderful piece, 5/5.

Definitely something I often forget to remember. Your words are simply, yet written with meaning. Life is too short. It's the simple pleasures like reading a good poem that remind me not to take anything for granted. This was a smooth read with a strong message. I enjoyed it :] 5/5.
