Twenty miles

by Steven Topaz   Dec 16, 2008

Our bed we will build,
Just fit for two.
The bed posts are beautiful,
My heart you lead so true.

Our matress of stars woven,
Soft and hopeful,
not a single wish stolen
Together, never are we woeful.

Under the blanket,
of smiles and hugs,
Our dreams are kept bright,
The blanket so snug.

Undeniable, Self reliable,
We tuck each other in,
The bliss of the slightest touch,
On my depressed white skin.

And the head piece,
Where our sins come out and play.
Deepest thoughts of another,
To sweet to say.

Still yet we have nothing,
No furniture in place.
We fight with it all.
Leaving nothing to chase.

And under the cover of your eyes,
Your heart and mine,
They beat together,
Fall perfectly in time.

Just give me your hand,
So together we dream.
yet still 20 miles apart,
and nothing was as it seemed.

    "To sweet to say."
    ^ "too" not "to"

Overall this poem was a sweet love poem. I could feel the emotions you were expressing because they felt so real and your words brought them to life for me. Your rhyming was good and the flow was nice although in some place the rhyme seemed forced but it wasnt that noticable. Your use of imagery was great and effective in getting your message across. Sometimes distance makes relationships weaker but when the love is true and pure, distance will actually make you two stronger.

    Good luck.
    Well done.
