It Was You

by Jenni Marie   Dec 17, 2008

{Isn't it ironic how I blamed myself}

If only I knew back then what I knew now
That you'd wrapped yourself up in deceit
Yet you were always so good at convincing
That not falling for your lines was no easy feat

{For every single thing we went through}

Blaming each and every mishap on me
Always the one who was wrong, to blame
Screwed my head up more than a few times
Yet you never felt even an ounce of shame

{Took the rap for everything that went wrong}

Like a lovesick fool blindly followed you
Only now I'm seeing you with open eyes
makes me laugh to think how gullible I was
How naive to foolishly fall for all your lies

{Now realizing that all along, it was you}
