Numbing lies

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   Dec 17, 2008

All this time we've been together
I was left with alibis and lying eyes
But I can't live without you so I sit here
Relaxed by your numbing lies

I've tried to leave so many times
I lost track long ago
But then you came in the room with that smile
And your face is all aglow

I kept telling myself
"I don't know for sure"
I always thought you were so perfect
So innocent and so pure

I thought that we were meant to be
And for that performance I must applaud
I thought you were my guardian angel
But you were really just a fraud

But I can't just pretend anymore
That you love me when you don't
And I can't pretend you'll confess
When I really know you won't

So this is where it ends
It's time to say our goodbyes
Because this feeling doesn't feel so great anymore
You can't trick me with your numbing lies
