You have to have the strength to let go,
But have enough strength to not turn back.
You have to have dedication and love,
Keep your head up and look down the right track.
Takes a lot to carry luggage on your shoulders,
But you can only go so far before you get weak.
You need a rest at a point of time,
But you have to ask yourself is it the path or luggage you need?
The luggage is most likely not yours,
Q: How long are you going to carry their weight?
Do they depend on you that much..
To push you to a point where you'll break?
Set down their luggage & look back then down,
Even taking it a couple steps was enough,
You can't let someone else tear you apart,
Physically, in the long run, it gets rough.
Yes you would love to help them,
Mentally you think one more won't hurt?
What about the ' one more ' after that?
Are you going to put you or them first?
Q: When are they going to take their luggage?
Do they realize you have your own weight?
Will it kill them when you put their luggage down,
Do you think they would even carry yours one day?
Theory: Alcoholics w/ Depression, Ones around them are torn mentally and physically if the alcoholic does not succeed help. With long-term alcoholism, it is up to the person who is there constantly for the alcoholic[with their up and downs] to stop and think; where is the life for them? When is the alcoholic going to realize we have to move on from their problem and live our lives? When is the alcoholic going to understand we want them to live in our lives sober and happy with not any heavy luggage.
