Maggot Brain Love

by Soulful Ensemble   Dec 19, 2008

The poison in your breath
Will take me home again
with the hands of death
Saying
"Lets do it all again."

I'm not ready to be broken baby
Don't look into my eyes and pretend to care.
I've been torn, destroyed and maybe
I should've seen the snakes in your hair.

Why would I still want you
When all we did is cry?
I must be a fool to love you
But now my heart has died.

Leeches all look up at me and laugh
And try to find my brain
Because the other broken half says
"Lets do it all again."

So if you want maggot brain love
That is what you will have.
And don't you push and shove
Complaning
That its not what you should have.

What do you think you deserve?
After you pushed my love away.
You belong there in the desert
In Las Vegas you should stay.

And if you're a moron then so am I,
For picking up your every grain
And sending them back with loving eyes
To say " lets do it all again."

And though I'm torn and heartless
I'd still shield you in the rain
Because I said my love was endless
And so I'd do it all again.

I love this poem! Sad, ironic and touching. But I feel sorry for the guy who has to "do it all again" with a girl like her, lol.
