You told me that you would never lie
You told me you would always stay true

I knew that didn't sound to promising
I don't know why I believed you

You told me not to listen to everyone else
You told me they were jealous and just getting in the way

I knew that my friends wouldn't lie
I let you get in my head and didn't listen to what they had to say

I regret ever listening to you
I wish I never trusted all the lies you told

But foolishly I played your game
And you watched my heart unfold

Now looking back
My mistake wasn't loving you

It was believing
That you loved me too!
