Nighttime Beauty

by InvisiblyHeartless   Dec 20, 2008

Tell me that it's all gonna be fine
Hold the foreign strawberry hair to you
Preotect her trembling body from the chill
Don't ask, silence in the cure she wants
Questions are a confusing sign of loss
Just be there in the dark of midnight

When her world comes tumbling down
Take her distant eyes and numb expression
Compliment her, the stranger you're holding
Be her crying shoulder, long past twilight
Settle in for the long night, stallion rider
Draw you're gleaming sword of innocence

Fight the mysterious black cloud
Constantly hold an unbreakable umbrella
Use the duller stars to guide yourself
Lead your dying horse to the last water
Rub soothing circles on her cold hand
Give to the needy, feed the weak

She's lost to the pain of a razor blade kiss
Let her not bleed on your shining armor
Breathe the life into this curious mosaic
Pull out your super glue, be her Romeo
Piece together her shattered life calmly
And never let her sense your fear

She isn't taking herself away tonight
The scarlet blush and emerald eyes
They will light up when she once again feels
Because in the ultimate test of love
You held her and gave her courage
Know, you mean more to me than
The words I fit into this powerful poem
