Just Waiting

by mysterious   Dec 22, 2008

I'm waiting here, just waiting here
Just waiting on a hint or care
How much longer must I be strong
Just give me a sign, enough to hold on

Don't you know what you do to me
It's so easy to show, yet you'll never see
All of this is locked inside
Right on the edge, but still I hide

I want to tell you,
To show you how I feel
Only you are the one,
The one who can make it real

There has been no other,
That I have known before
Where from the start,
I just completely adore

You're so selfless,
So caring, humble and kind
All of those I've searched for
And thought would never find.

You're perfect,
Even with the little things that get me
Dreaming for one day,
When you say we shall always be

Will such a day ever come
I'm just waiting here, just waiting here
Waiting for that day, you say you'll always be there.

My feelings
Have been this way for so long
Don't know what to do,
Sometimes wish they were gone

Been living my life
With this kept all along
But by telling myself to wait
Could it be so wrong?

I should just forget it
Forget it and let you go
Cause I won't tell you my secret
And doubt you'll ever know

So until the day you open your eyes
I'll be waiting here, just waiting here

Waiting for that special smile,
That special smile I've been waiting for, all this while.

    "There has been no other,
    That I have known before
    Where from the start,
    I just completely adore"
    - I think in the last the flow would be exceptionally better (not that it's off now) if you remove 'just' in order to have 'I completely adore'. I liked these lines, they put hope, faith, and stubbornness into the poem.

    "So caring, humble and kind"
    - This is a very overdone mistake, easy to make too. 'So caring, humble, and kind' is how you want it (note the comma after humble). Many people forget to add one not realizing it's needed or simply think that it's not. BUT, you need comma's in lists. Examples of non-listed, non-needs; Bruised, black and blue.

Note: Black and blue is a saying/phrase but it's a list with bruised. Therefore you don't need a comma after black since it's tied in with blue.

"Will such a day ever come
I'm just waiting here, just waiting here
Waiting for that day, you say you'll always be there."
    - Three lines? I suggest separating the last line at 'day, you' to make 2 lines like;

[Will such a day ever come
I'm just waiting here, just waiting here
    Waiting for that day,
you say you'll always be there.]

I'm going to let you in on a secret, kiddo. There's ALWAYS another guy/girl out there for someone. But, the person needs to take into consideration if that person will meet the standards they have set and/or if that person will be better than the last. Keeping secrets isn't fun to do. (That's my secret, lol).

Of course, keeping secrets fits your name? Mysterious. Haha.
