Facade (Vers Beaucoup)

by Sylvia   Dec 23, 2008

Sun is bright, full of white light.
My sight is dim, on a whim and I
can't see him. Vision clears as he nears,
my fears that I'm blind, not true I find.

Tree limbs, bare of leaves, if you dare to care.
You stare, feel blue, it is true
that if you knew they would fall from the tall
trees you would recall what spring does bring.

Sunshine, leaves on trees, no longer grieves, he believes.
He retrieves a thought that ought to have
taught a lesson from before not to ignore but
restore your faith in God and drop your facade.

The Vers Beaucoup, a poem for created by Curt Mongold, which is French for "many rhymes". Each stanza consists of four lines with a rhyming word scheme of:
a-a-a-
a-b-b-
b-c-c-
c-d-d

Each rhyme can only use a MAXIMUM of three words. The fourth "a" rhyme carried over to the second line causes enjambment and creates a strong internal rhyming structure. (Enjambment - The continuation of a syntactic unit from one line or couplet of a poem to the next with no pause.)

    Beautiful, dear Silvia!

How different this world would be without a facade...but also a cold and frightening one.
We may not realize it, but facades are needed in social life and in the business world as well. I would be out of a business really soon if I told some of my most obnoxious clients how I truly feel about them!
I love one should be able to be honest and not wear a facade though....if you cannot be honest..there is no basis for a relationship at all.

    A big hug,
