God's gift to me

I don't see God as vengeful,

But I know he makes us pay,

For all our ruthless deeds,

And the crooked games we play.

For such a long time,

I've been paying for what I've done,

To the people I love most,

And from the problems that I've run.

It wasn't to betray me,

But to teach me right from wrong,

To remind me that I'm not doing,

The things I should've all along.

He never has forgotten,

How many times I said "Who cares?",

Or how I looked to see who was watching,

When I knew I wasn't playing fair.

If I thought I had escaped it,

His wrath, at least one time,

He showed me he knows all,

Made me regret my every crime.

At times when I was trying,

To regain the things I've lost,

I thought it was finally over,

I still hadn't redeemed the cost.

So many times I cried, "I'm sorry,

When will I be able to loose my past?",

He told me, "It's almost over,

Someday your debt will be your last."

Tonight when I looked into your eyes,

I felt his presence there,

He said, "My child this is your gift,

For what you've went through to repair."

I know with my every molecule,

That God sent you to me, showing,

He wanted me to be blessed with you,

Without you even knowing.

You see, you have no idea,

Exactly what your presence means,

It means my debts are paid,

It means I'm finally free.

For the first time in my life,

I've cried tears from joy, not pain,

Because you was lying by my side,

Without any want of gain.

You are the brightest moment of my day,

The warmest part of the shade,

If I was offered anything for you,

There is nothing I could trade.

You're the most gorgeous man I've ever seen,

Your eyes capture my heart,

God painted you as a masterpiece,

You're my favorite work of art.

I love you like I never thought possible,

You are the answer to my prayers,

That I never foresaw to be answered,

But I turn around and Thank God, You're there.
