The Confession.

by xX the left behind Xx   Dec 27, 2008

Apathy burned in your chest..
And reflected in your eyes.
Your heart one day confessed..
That your smile was a disguise.

Yet one day, I offered my love to you..
As the sun said its goodbye's.
Hoping your sweet words were true.
Denying that they were lies.

As twilight settled over us,
my heart was shattered beyond repair.
My flowing tears I did suppress.
Hidden was my despair.

Dragged myself home alone that night.
Clutching confirmations of what I denied.
In the bowels of my being, I was so contrite
and deep inside, I died.

This is such a sad poem. And so well expressed. I really felt the sadness in it. This is amazing writing.

Dragged myself home alone that night.
Clutching confirmations of what I denied.

I could especially understand how this would feel. Great Poem.
