Repentance

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Dec 27, 2008

Is it going to be on your deathbed?
Where you'll regret the horrible life you've led?
Or will your convictions remain small?
And you won't repent at all?

Would you want to erase my tears?
Take back your shouts and swears?
Perhaps you will never stop
While you remain on top

In any case I don't care
I'm used to your vicious glare
How can you ever hurt me more?
If I have no immunity in store?

My tears are finished and done.
Dark clouds replaced my sun.
All the pain has gone away.
And my sky remains cold and grey.

But, one day I might be alright.
And my life might turn bright.
And I could laugh once again
Not worrying about what and when

One day I might not stress
And i'll wear a beautiful dress
Go out and be carefree
Knowing that you won't be waiting for me.

But, here you are at the hospital.
Dying.. But cursing me as you always do.
Any last words or apologies you want to say?
Because I'm the one who will continue living.. Not you.
