Hypocrite

Hypocrite

(for the so-called Politicians)

Showering tender promises
sandhills they erect,
smashing nation's structure
with claims to resurrect.

Words echoed through lips
are betrayed by their eyes,
glorified hope doesn't balm
plight of innocent lives.

Their frozen souls condemn
minds that conspire,
Still warm up their dens
from flames of victim's pyre.

Wow. The flow in this poem.. was incredible. I dont know what it was, but something about the flow.. just amazed me. It was flawless. The subject matter was also very good and very, very true. I really loved this write. Very original.

You have portrayed politicians well. I lost all trust for them back when Nixon and Watergate came about. If they are not corrupt when elected, it won't take long for their power to be abused and them to change.

I truly enjoyed this poem, it has a point that can never become to old or to told. I do wish it was longer, one stanza would suffice it for me, but it was fantastic in its elements. I'm sure it will leave a bitter taste in the mouths of any politicians who read it. Thank you

    Peace and prosperity

So very true of the wheelers and dealers of politics. Just a couple of grammar issues:

glorified hope DOESN'T balm (don't would be very slangy and idiomatic, and I don't think you want that in this poem)

    and
    Their frozen SOULS condemn
    minds that conspire,
    Still warm up their denS
    from flames of victim's pyre.

A chilling poem and words so true..I could not agree with you more.
So many innocent people left to rot for the happy few that play God from their ivory tower.
A great poem, strong voice and a good choice of words.

    Bravo, sweet lady:)
