The Moon

by adroit   Jan 4, 2009

The gate stood open, reaching
Out into the still darkness
Only time keeps our life safe
Never would we die or live
In this door-less room
Faraway from all we love
There is no emptiness to praise as
Awe-inspiring as the night
The stars shine in a sky as a
Hope embodied in an even, humble light
In its own splendid reign,
The moon shows its wintry gaze
