I Love You Both

by Fran   Jan 4, 2009

A beautiful day with you.
Laughing as the ocean spray kissed our faces
With it's salty tears.
Walking over the beach,
Our barefeet sinking in the wet sand,
Footprints tracing lovers lost in intimate delight.

I wrote your name in the sand,
Daring the tide to hide my love.
A beautiful day with you.
But still I think of him and sigh.
I love you both, but does my love for him
Dilute my love for you?
Torment.
Isn't love supposed to bring peace?

Poets lament over one of lifes many delemas. An old R&B classic said,"Trying to love two, sho ain't easy to do". I guess not.
Nice poem that looks at the flip side of love, heartache, pain and confusion.

An excellent poem Fran, you been reading my mind, lol. The wording was very imaginative, and struck a chord with me.
