When I Was A Kid

by Lost in Love   Jun 10, 2004

When i was a kid
I didn't know love
I thought it was the one you say has cooties
Or the one you push and shove

When i was a kid
I didn't know a broken heart
I thought it would mend itself
I didn't know it could tear me apart

When i was a kid
I thought i new what they wanted for valentine
So i stood their handed her a dead frog
And a caterpillar on a leaf vine

When i was a kid
I didn't know what to say
So i just stared at her in silence
Day after day

When i was a kid
I thought it was just another friend
Someone who would play video- games and power rangers
So i treated her the same

Now I'm older and in love
I still joke and say she has cooties
But in stead of a little push and shove
She'll say to me hold me tight please

Now I'm older
I've experienced a broken heart
It's painful so i try my best
Not to tear hers apart

Now I'm older
Their something different on valentines
Maybe some white roses
Or the sweetest chocolate i can find

Now I'm older
I know what to talk about
I I tell her how much i love her
And she's someone i cant live without

Now I'm older
I look back on my younger years
I laugh and look at my life now
I turn to my love and eyes fill with tears

Now I'm older
She is still my best friend
But i treat her with more respect
And give her more love than them
