Then, And Only Then

by LonelyNightsHurt   Jan 9, 2009

I think about death,
Much more than any one person should
About taking my own life
And wonder if I ever could?

I know I would be joining my family,
The ones I miss more than any other thing
But then, could I leave my family here?
To face the pain my death would bring

Could I handle the guilt I feel
Even after my body had left this earth
Never touching, kissing or making love
Or even the experience of giving birth

I thought long and hard about my life
Where it is, and where it may lead
My life will end in its own due course
And then and only then I shall be freed

I love the fact that this poem represents sense and reason with its concluding stanza. a large majority of this site will have felt these feelings but i doubt that many have really ever questioned could they really end there lives even though they have thought about it for a long time.

I thought long and hard about my life
Where it is, and where it may lead
My life will end in its own due course
And then and only then I shall be freed
    - this is a positive stanza which i hope many people will get to read.

i always hate being critical abot poems like this- so i wont. this is a personal emotion, you may or may not feel it yourself, but no one should have the right to put a serious emotion like this down.
