Contemplations Of Winter

The snowflakes fall down past my head
My cigarette smoke crawling into sky above
I have come such a long way in this life
But I still do not understand the true meaning of love

See they always seem to leave when I care the most
When I am finally ready to believe in how they care
They destroy all my belief and crush this already twisted heart
Until the world is left with a vision of me you cannot compare

So then why do I keep falling head over heals
For something I can no longer believe is magic
What is this unseeing force that compels me to no end
Am I finally in love with the things that make my life tragic?

Why is when I look into the face of full of hope and radiance?
I become so clumsy and fall head over heals all over again?
Love is suppose to mean everlasting happiness right
But why in the end of it all do I fall hopelessly dead
