A Walk Through My Brain

Please hold my hand and take a walk through my brain.
Take a look at this place they call unstable...insane.
See the flowers in the sky and the clouds on the ground
and hear the silence of noise not making a sound.

Feel the fire grow icy as frost bite burns away.
If you like it in here you are welcome to stay.
Time consumes energy and energy fuels time,
but trust me my dear, these minutes are prime.

If you could taste music you'd know that it heals.
Music in my veins, if only I could know how it feels.
I'm putting on memories like putting on clothes.
Wear it for one day, what's under no one knows.

I'm shedding away darkness like a snake sheds skin.
The layer dies, falls off, then the new layer begins.
I catch diseases like a kid catches butterflies.
When asked if there's a cure all I can do is mutter lies.

I must be wearing a repellent because my heroes bounce off.
When asked if I'm in need of help I simply turn my head and cough.
I'm swallowing the treatment and getting all my shots,
but all it does is hurt me and I can't connect the dots.

It's so dark, but if I turn on the light the stars go away,
and I don't want to be alone, I want the stars to stay.
You are new company, now this mind feels like a home.
I used to want to leave this place, but there's no where to roam.

Don't let go of my hand, don't you ever leave this place.
If you leave me here I'll surely disappear without a trace.
I've been brown bagging these thoughts I've been thinking.
I'm sure I love you, you probably know from my winking.

Well it's time for you to pick if you stay or if you go.
Whether I'm insane or not I'm sure you will know.
