Hurry, goodbye.

by Neme juste un jouet   Jan 11, 2009

A glance over the shoulder
and a faint smile that says goodbye.
Like a lone cloud who wants to cry,
but in the glory of the sun
is merely forced to smile,
I have always been this way.
Two hands broken from
each other's clasp
and the lovers go running,
quickly into the blinding sun-
but one does not see the edge
and goes soaring into the sky,
just like a dream.
They never even got a chance to kiss
goodbye,
goodbye.
The eyes meet and offer a chance
to send butterflies
flying into your throat
and cascading into your gut-
yet all you can see if the ending
of happily ever afters never to come.
Neon lights begging you to come,
vacancy and emptiness
is all these barren lands offer,
look at all the signs.
Opened, closed,
goodbye,
goodbye.
Please,
we are running out of time,
what is it you want to say?
Like a fallen child
who struggles in her youth to get back up,
that's why you remind me of me,
because I gave up so long ago,
I will never dance again.
I wish you might go far away
into the sky into the horizon
because you have taught me
that life is like
the birth of a child who never utters a sound.
Goodbye.
Hurry, come catch me.
