When the end is near as I fear that it is now
I realize just how much I care about you
I know that it will never again be you and I
And there is no reason in asking myself why

But there are a couple of things you need to know...
In my life you have left a trace
And my dreams I know that you will come and go
And in my heart you will always have a special place

But this is what you need to know
I still need you, I really do
But now when the end is near
