The end of the world

by theory of the loser   Jan 12, 2009

Can we wait a while?
Just sit,
don't think?
Something I need,
the quiet peacefulness,
of you here with me.

So no words, no sounds,
the need of this feeling
scary at most.
You don't truly understand,
there's no way to overdose.

You don't get it do you?
I wish you did,
it wouldn't be as scary,
not with you by my side.

I wish you would hold my hand,
sit by my side,
and never ever leave.

You are my friend and a friend you will be.
Your the only one that doesn't ever leave me.

Yet you don't understand,
that's ok.
Let's wait.
The silence is companionable,
and I don't want it to leave just yet.

So stay by my side,
I'll make some popcorn,
let's watch the world end,
like it's a peaceful endeavor.

Because,
today you're by my side,
we are together.
You're not going away,
not for a while,
if ever.

So this is where we wait,
this is where we sit.
In the middle of an old abandond street,
smiles on our faces,
slient laughter escaping us.

The world is ending,
only we know.
We find it as a natural joke.
Cause it's gonna be on your birthday.
12-12-2012,
the day you turn eighteen,
is the day the world ends.

So sit with me in silence just a little longer,
I want to enjoy the irony.
Just one last moment,
the world will wait for us,
so we should just slow down.

Because,
right now this moment is ours.
This moment is the moment I'll treasure.
I don't want to walk away with out a smile.

Yeah that's how it ends there's nothing,
no denial.
Let's watch the world end again,
and again.
I'll enjoy it even if it's sad,
just for another minute to be with you.
