His Guardian Angel

by Maddy   Jan 13, 2009

Floating high in the clouds above,
A woman watches, eyes filled with love.
Recently departed from her beloved son,
God needed her, the battle couldn't be won.

Held on long enough to say goodbye,
Grasping hands, together they cried.
The last moment flew in the light of day,
That afternoon, she passed away.

Soared to a place where there is no pain,
And old loved ones lost, reunited again.
But now she's watching her beloved son,
Fight a battle that can be won.

Past few days he's awakened,
Goes to find his mother, then turns around, mistaken.
Mentally, his mind shut down.
In an effort to relieve the hurt that surrounds.

But she's been gazing upon him, all this time,
Wishing he wouldn't feel so alone inside.
Surrounds her son with compassion and love,
Hoping he'll realize she's still guiding him from above.

**Dedicated to one of the most dear of all friends. We've all felt the trauma that death can bring, but keep hanging in there. She's watching you, helping you, and you should feel safe in knowing that her, your dad, and God will not lead you to failure. It's OK to grieve, it's natural. Don't be afraid to cry. If you need to talk to someone, you know where to go. Just keep faith, things will get better. I promise.**

This was amazing poem, your wording was perfect.
You made me think, that when a person
pastes away, that its not the end of the world.
That they'll always be by your side
Even when you start feeling alone.
Which is great..cause my aunt pasted and
My mom, my sisters and I were
    very close to her!
    And I miss her dearly!
    This poem helps me understand
    She'll always be there!

    Maddy,

This is a truly beautiful poem you have penned for TJ. It must have been hard for you to write it, because you love him so much and it must be unbearable to know how much he is suffering right now.
You have a good heart, it shines through your words:)

    *hugs*

Is hould really know better than to read two sad poems in a row. Yours and TJ's both made me cry. This poem was...beautiful. We all need to believe that the departed ones are now guardian angels, watching over us. This stanza was my favorite:
    "Past few days he's awakened,
Goes to find his mother, then turns around, mistaken.
    Mentally, his mind shut down.
In an effort to relieve the hurt that surrounds."
You forget, sometimes, when you go to sleep. And then you wake up the next morning and remember, and the pain starts anew. It was a wonderful poem. 5/5 doesn't do it justice.
