Your Dam

by shadow   Jan 13, 2009

You've held back for too long
And now the dam has broken away
Watered-down emotions trickle thru
Until self-control starts to dip and sway

This world once full of vivid colour
Now faded to worn out blacks and greys
Broken windows let the air seep in
Rotting each and every memory away

You walk around in a permanent coma
Unaware of the force you have on me
Both eyes held wide open and staring
Still blind from what we can all see

Now the water gushes in every direction
Destroying every bridge you ever built
Torn between an old friend and new enemy
I watch you crumble from your own guilt
