To this world I was never born

by cda   Jan 14, 2009

To me you were like the moon and the sun
With assurance of being the perfect mum
Learning your skills were tough but fun
Helping me to become that special one

You left us so suddenly never to return
For me to step in and keep the fires a burn
How I wished that day never did dawn
And to this world - I was never born

Fate had it written in my life's book
Prompting me to take a real hard look
Reality dawned my world - It shook
Crushing the freedom - I mistook

Shattered were my dreams for the rest of my life
Like a cut through my heart with the sharpest knife
Trying so hard to take life in its stride
To be a good mans wife - the only hope in sight

Sad poem but written wonderfully. This happens to many times. Lovely flow, rhyming and style. 5/5, Em
