Loving You

by enigmatic_prey   Jan 15, 2009

I can't seem to find the words
To say things I've been going through
The pain of not having you here,
But there's nothing I can do.
I can only suppress the urge to hold you close,
Waiting for what our tomorrow might bring.

If only I could just snatch away your smile
which is for someone else,
If only my silence could say
words my voice can't seem to carry to you,
If only I had the strength to look you in the eyes
before everything shatters at the bottom
of my perplexed heart,
Perhaps, there's a chance for me and you.

I have always tried my best to show that I care
But despite my brave front, silence fills the air,
I just can't say that I love you.

Sometimes I wonder,
Why can't silence convey my thoughts?
Why can't the look in my eyes tell you how I feel?
Why can't actions be enough?
Though I usually voice my thoughts out,
"What started out as friends has grown",
is something I can only harbor.

How can I tell you,
If your glimpses are only for somebody else?
If those sweet words aren't for me?
If who you need isn't me?

It's the truth,
unbearable for me to handle...
What else I can do but
Wait in this never-ending silence
with these concealed feelings.
